For kids who summered at Atlantic City nothing beat a day on the beach like a night on the boards.  One of our favorite funspots was the legendary Steel Pier.  For one admission you could occupy yourself for hours playing in the arcades...dropping down to the depths of the murky ocean in the Diving Bell...having fun watching the famous diving horse and the water circus...catching a movie in the theaters...checking out the new cars at the Gneral Motors exhibit...seeing the stars in the Marine Ballroom...and catching stars of tomorrow in Tony Grant's cheesey American Idol-style staged talent show.  Sure, the families thought their kids were the best tap dancers and baton twirlers and tuba players and voice cracking sopranos.  We were just looking for a place to catch a nap.  Wonder whatever happened to those stars of tomorrow?  Color:  Star White
